This half term in year 6, we are very fortunate to have Goodnight Mister Tom as our core text.
GNMT is a moving tale of an eight-year-old boy, William Beech who is evacuated from London’s Deptford area to go and live in a village called Little Weirwold shortly before the Second World War breaks out.
In 6 Seuss we spent a few days reading and focusing on the two main characters resulting in P-E-E (point, evidence, explanation) paragraphs of which you can find displayed on our working wall.
In 6 Rowling, we have written our own setting descriptions for William Beech’s new home Little Weirwold, using what we have inferred from the story so far to develop our own ideas.
In addition to this, we recapped our prior knowledge from Year 4 looking at the events of WW2 such as The Blitz. We created images of London during The Blitz- as you can see they are very eye catching!
We are very proud of our work!
