Donaldson group have been making collage this term. The project shown here is “Monster Drawing”. We started by drawing a general body shape. This can be an oval, a circle or other shape they like. They added arms and feet. Children are encouraged to add patterns, stripes, squiggles or any other desired lines to their monster parts in oil pastels. Then we painted with water colors and created a nice pattern texture.
Finally they cut out the monster features such as eyes, mouth, teeth and some of the children added hats, laces and other outfits and glued it. This way children are not only having fun but developing manual dexterity by cutting out shapes, gluing and drawing. Some of them learnt to hold a pencil. Have a look at our monsters. They are looking cute!
