On Tuesday 28th November 2017, Year 3-6 pupils at Houndsfield Primary School were incredibly lucky to have Dr Donald Palmer visit for a special assembly. He shared with us his journey of how he became a scientist and his inspirations along the way. He reminded us that we can achieve anything we want to if we try our best, ask for help and remain focused.
Things we learned…
-What science really means
-Speak to people who know about what you want to do.
-Be brave and believe in yourself. Follow your dreams and your heart. Be strong.
-How much Dr Palmer enjoyed science.
-The journey to achieve something will be long but worth it.
-That we can enjoy science.
-To be curious and try new things.
-Reading is really important.
-Heroes and heroines are something to look up to.
-Don’t be afraid to have a go.
-Don’t stop learning
